Brain-wide pathway for waste clearance captured by contrast-enhanced MRI.
J Clin Invest. 2013 Mar 1;123(3):1299-309.

It is a very interesting paper and proposes a new way for the brain to get rid of waste products. It can increase our knowledge in how Aβ is metabolized in the brain/body, something we need to know much more about to be able to fully understand the pathology behind Alzheimer’s disease. The technique is exciting and should be possible to implement in humans. Using MRI is superior to other radiation-dependent techniques to study exchange of compounds in the brain.
