Alzheimer's Disease vs Control: YKL-40 (CSF)
YKL-40 is thought to be a marker of glial activation and inflammation. A number of studies have now quantified YKL-40 in the cerebrospinal fluid of people with Alzheimer’s disease. Meta-analysis of more than 30 comparisons showed YKL-40 to be somewhat elevated in AD patients compared with control subjects (effect size = 1.362, p <0.0001).
